Industrial
Pharmacy Laboratory I, II, III This
laboratory is well equipped with machinery required for mixing, size
reduction, granulation, tablet compression, drying, sterilization, capsule
filling, ampoule filling & sealing in manufacturing of pharmaceutical
dosage form like tablets, capsules, ointments, liquid orals, parenterals,
novel drug delivery system, packaging science etc. This laboratory is also
equipped with equipments like hardness taster, disintegration and
dissolution apparatus etc. |

Microbiology Laboratory and Aseptic Area This
sophisticated laboratory helps students to familiarize with Current Good
Manufacturing Practices (CGMP), design, development and maintenance of aseptic
areas, procedure for sterility testing, experiments in biotechnology, growth,
cultivation, isolation and identification of microorganism, microbiological
assays etc.

These well-furnished laboratories provide facilities for
practical training in
pharmaceutical medicinal chemistry, synthesis and structural elucidation of
medicinally important compounds, practical training is also offered in organic
chemistry, biochemistry and inorganic chemistry with well design experiments. |

Pharmaceutical
analysis laboratory Pharmacopeal and other standard and well-publicized
methods are used for analysis of foods and pharmaceuticals. This laboratory
equipped with necessary facilities helps students familiarize themselves with
different classical methods of analysis.

Central Instrument Laboratory III: This
laboratory supplements pharmaceutical analysis laboratory referred to above and
enables students to perform analysis of drugs and pharmaceuticals using
different instruments based on spectroscopic, electrometric and chromatographic
techniques. The study of other subjects requiring instrumental analysis is also
done here. |

Human Anatomy, Physiology and Health
Education lab & Pharmacology Lab: Both well
equipped laboratories and animal house (Registered & Approved by CPCSEA,
Chennai) help the students in practical studies of anatomy physiology and health
education, pharmacology and chemotherapy, bioassay of various drugs and to carry
out animal model experiments for the activity testing of various drugs and
chemicals etc.

Pharmacognosy
Laboratory and Phytochemistry lab: Standardization of herbal drugs is need of the hour. These
laboratories provide the required facilities for the students to acquire skill
of identification, morphological and microscopical studies of crude as well as
powdered drugs, extraction, isolation and estimation of active principles,
pharmacological uses and formulation aspects of various medicinal and aromatic
plants of traditional value. |

Museum: A separate collection of herbariums and drug samples of the plants origin with detailed description is available.

Medicinal
Garden: A medicinal garden is cultivated within the campus as a
supplement to the Pharmacognosy department. The medicinal plants are tagged with
their biological names and categories used in Phytochemistry and Pharmacognosy. |

The computer
laboratory is well equipped with latest computers and necessary software’s for
practical training in computer programming, application of computers in pharmacy
and Internet facilities for the use of students and staff. |

Research Laboratory – Central Instrument Lab I & III |

Two laboratories are set up to cater to
the postgraduate program in clinical pharmacy and to undertake any sponsored
clinical research work including bioequivalence studies. Biomedical Laboratory: Equipped with required
facilities & instruments like Biochemistry Analyzer, Binocular microscope,
Automate Cell counter etc.
